Tixel
Categories: Creases/Laxity/Sagging / Fine Lines / Pigmentation/Uneven Tone / Pores / Wrinkles
The Tixel device is ideal for reducing and reversing the signs of chronological aging, inducing dermal remodeling without lasers or injections. Lines and wrinkles are reduced, crepey skin texture is smoothed, and unevenness due to acne scarring improved. Depending on the area being treated you can expect: improvement in skin texture, wrinkles and fine lines, better definition of eye lids, reduced acne and scarring, and skin tightening.
Before & After Photos

What is Tixel?
Tixel simply works with heat. Thermal energy is delivered through a titanium treatment head, no larger than a stamp, its surface made up of pyramids. The tip of each pyramid is tiny 鈥 120 microns, thinner than a hair 鈥 and these microscopic points are what touch your skin and deliver the heat precisely and quickly (1/100th of a second). The 鈥渟izzle鈥 triggers a wound-and-heal response, stimulating collagen and elastin, softening lines and restoring tightness. The thermal 鈥渋nsult鈥 to dermal collagen promotes skin tightening due to fibroblast stimulation which, together with the epidermal heat-induced disruption, results in a more youthful and fresher look to the skin.
Where can I have the Tixel treatment?
It is suitable for use on the face, neck, decolletage, hand and around the eyes and, unlike laser or needling treatments, it can be used on the eyelid and tear trough for a non-surgical eye lift.
What does a Tixel treatment feel like?
With numbing, patients experience very little discomfort.
Who is a good candidate for the Tixel treatment?
This treatment is suitable for most people, even those with darker skin types. The Tixel treatment is used to improve the general tone and firmness of the skin as well as reduce pore size and fine lines.
How long does a Tixel treatment take?
A full face takes only about 15 minutes. Topical numbing takes about 30 minutes before your appointment.
What is the downtime?
Immediately after the treatment, the skin may feel sunburnt for about 12 hours. For the next 2-3 days, the skin may be red and there may be mild crusting which will disappear over the next few days. There is usually a full recovery by day 5. There may be swelling after treatments around the eye area which will go down over a day or so. Neck and body areas may take longer to recover as cellular turnover is slower in these areas than on the face.
It is recommended to only use a simple moisturiser for hydration in the days after the treatment. (No retinol or antioxidants such as vitamin C serums). Makeup can be used after 2-3 days.
When will I see results?
Patients see improvements in their skin soon after the first session and these continue to over the next few weeks as the collagen production kicks in. Patients often report feeling a 鈥渕arked difference鈥 after just 1 or 2 treatments, but more significant improvement will be seen 3-6 months after the series of treatments has been completed.
How many Tixel treatments will I need?
Multiple treatments deliver lasting results that can keep you looking younger for years to come. Results are cumulative. A typical treatment regimen would involve 3-4 sessions 4-6 weeks apart (dependent on the intensity of each treatment session).
What do I need to know before my first Tixel treatment?
Let your doctor know if you have a history of cold sores in or near the treatment area. You should not have the Tixel treatment if you have active skin infections, are pregnant or lactating.
Please come in 30 minutes before your appointment time for topical numbing. Avoid immediate sun-exposure in the first 48 hours, and wear sunscreen consistently to preserve and maintain results of treatments.
